2018 FIFA World Cup: Argentine star Lionel Messi names match against Nigeria among his favorites

Lionel Messi has reportedly revealed that a game against Nigeria was among his favorites for Argentina.

The Barcelona star was superb as he scored three goals which helped Argentina beat Ecuador to qualify for the Russia 2018 fiesta.

Nigeria and Argentina have both qualified for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The winger who was superb in Argentina’s win against Ecuador which gave the South Americans the World Cup ticket was said to be looking forward for his country to face Nigeria in Russia.

Messi was reported according to Guillem Balague, a Sports Journalist with Sky Sports, that a game against Nigeria was among his favorites games for Argentina.

He has played against Nigeria twice at age-grade level which was in the 2005 World Youth Championship and also the 2008 Olympic in Beijing winning both matches.

At senior level, Messi has scored in three times in the three games he has played against Nigeria which was a brace at the last World Cup in Brazil and a goal in a friendly game played in Malaysia in 2012.

Nigeria and Argentina have both qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and they could meet in the competition next year in Russia.
